We are recalling 1,084 Dunlop SportMaxx GT summer passenger car tires in size 255/40ZR19 100Y XL produced in weeks 37 and 38 of 2015, in order to retrieve 369 tires which were manufactured with an incorrect tread compound.
The affected tires can be identified by a DOT number on the sidewall of the tire reading DN5W JC1R 3715 or DN5W JC1R 3815. No other of the company’s brands, products or sizes are affected.
The use of the incorrect compound reduces significantly the tire’s wet grip performance which presents a road safety risk.
Consequently, we are contacting motorists, tire and car dealers and vehicle manufacturers who may have any of these tires in stock or on a vehicle, asking them to contact Goodyear Dunlop immediately to have them exchanged at no cost.
All motorists who identify these tires on their cars must avoid any driving in wet road conditions. Please contact Goodyear Dunlop if you can’t reach your tire or car dealer in dry road conditions and the company will provide an alternative solution.
To date, the company has not received any reports of incidents in connection with these tires.
To arrange replacement or ask any questions regarding this safety recall notice, please call the local customer service centre. Please see the attached list.
Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.
